Xuanyi Wang , also known as Aura Wang, is a New York based artist. She works in multimedia fine art, motion graphics, and digital illustration. Stylistically, her work is influenced by 1930s feminist surrealists, mid-century American fetish artists, punk rock culture, and 1980s Club Kids.

I dissect the body and collective memory to examine sexuality, mortality, and the female experience. I defy the male gaze, a constricting worldview, that has deprived female autonomy, sensuality, and self-realization. My work depicts a new subliminal character: a fictionalized human incarnated with endless vitality.”
